Faster recovery from brain and mental health disorders using magnesium ibogaine: describing the personal healing experience
Updated
Abstract
Magnesium-ibogaine treatment resulted in rapid clinical improvements for U.S. Special Operations veterans with TBI and PTSD.
- Post-session narratives from 30 veterans revealed four key experiential themes related to their healing process.
- Veterans reported a dialogic trauma re-appraisal involving guided replay of personal memories.
- Experiences of altered-self and mystical connectedness were commonly described.
- Many participants experienced emotional resolution characterized by feelings of forgiveness, love, and renewed purpose.
- A vivid sense of neural repair and cognitive clarity was associated with the treatment.
- The themes suggest a potential self-directed psychotherapeutic process linked to rapid neuroplastic change.
