Longer total sleep duration, greater deep sleep, and increased REM sleep were associated with lower risk of most aging hallmarks.

  • Higher wakefulness after sleep onset and greater sleep irregularity were linked to higher risk of aging hallmarks.
  • Light sleep did not show significant associations with aging hallmarks.
  • The number of proteins associated with both sleep patterns and aging hallmarks varied from 1 to 558.
  • Identified proteins were mainly involved in immune and inflammatory pathways.
  • Proteins such as IL1RN, FABP1, GDF15, and LEP were consistently observed across different sleep patterns and aging hallmarks.
