How Fat Tissue Stem Cell Exosomes Affect Corneal Repair Cells’ Survival and Matrix Production

Updated

Abstract

ADSC-derived exosomes significantly promoted proliferation and inhibited early apoptosis of corneal stromal cells (CSCs).

  • ADSCs and CSCs were successfully isolated from New Zealand white rabbits.
  • Exosomes from ADSCs were confirmed as nanoparticles ranging from 40-200 nm.
  • The optimal concentration and treatment time for exosomes were 100 μg/ml and 96 hours, respectively.
  • ADSC-derived exosomes led to significant downregulation of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in CSCs.
  • Extracellular matrix-related proteins, including collagens and fibronectin, were significantly upregulated in exosome-treated CSCs.
