How adlay hull extracts affect testosterone release from rat testis hormone-producing cells
Updated
Abstract
Methanol extracts of adlay hull (AHM) decreased testosterone release in rat Leydig cells.
- AHM inhibits testosterone synthesis through the suppression of specific signaling pathways.
- The study observed a reduction in the activity of the 17beta-HSD enzyme, which is involved in testosterone production.
- AHM also reduced the secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) when rat pituitary cells were stimulated with gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH).
- The findings suggest that adlay hull may have an impact on endocrine functions related to testosterone levels.
