Air pollution linked to faster biological aging based on DNA markers in Taiwan Biobank data

Updated

Abstract

Essence

Air pollution exposure was linked to accelerated DNA methylation age in Taiwan Biobank participants.

Evidence

This observational analysis of 2462 Taiwan Biobank participants tested six air pollutants against Horvath, BLUP, and Elastic Net epigenetic clocks, with PM2.5 and PM10 significant across all three models.

Caveat

The associations are observational, and the abstract does not establish causality or describe exposure timing, clinical outcomes, or residual confounding.
