A special molecule helps deliver active proteins directly into cell interiors

Updated

Abstract

Essence

The MAGIC -based carrier delivered diverse bioactive proteins into mammalian cell cytosol while preserving function.

Evidence

This cellular delivery-platform experiment tested MAGIC with charged proteins and mammalian cell lines, reporting active β-Gal, HRP, trypsin, RNase A, and saporin delivery and about 40% lower cytotoxicity than Lipo8000 and TranEX.

Caveat

The evidence is limited to cell-line delivery and activity assays, so therapeutic performance and safety in living organisms remain untested in the abstract.
