Abstract
Neutralizing antibody responses were assessed in 56 adults following KP.2 vaccination against emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants.
- KP.2 vaccination enhanced neutralization against the original virus but showed substantial reductions against emerging Omicron variants.
- Participants with a history of vaccination-only exhibited better cross-neutralization compared to those with hybrid immunity.
- Antigenic mapping indicated significant differences between KP.2 and emerging variants, suggesting a high potential for immune escape.
- The data indicate that KP.2 boosting primarily enhances responses to previously encountered spike proteins, with limited effectiveness against drifted variants.
