Abstract
Both disulfiram (DSF) and diethyldithiocarbamate (DDC) demonstrated potent antitubercular activities against 42 clinical isolates of M. tuberculosis.
- DSF and DDC were tested against multidrug- and extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis strains.
- DSF exhibited significant bactericidal activity in both ex vivo and in vivo conditions.
- The findings suggest that DSF may be repurposed for treating MDR/XDR-TB.
