Abstract

In vitro culture significantly altered the levels of apoptosis- and autophagy-related proteins in mouse testicular tissue.

  • Cryopreservation methods had minimal impact on protein levels after culture compared to fresh tissue.
  • Significant differences in spermatid development were observed between in vivo and in vitro conditions.
  • A basic culture medium with specific supplements yielded the highest percentage of seminiferous tubules containing elongated spermatids.
  • Vitrified testes showed a substantial reduction in an apoptotic factor compared to fresh tissue after culture.
  • Supplementation with growth factors promoted spermatogonial stem cell proliferation rather than differentiation.
