PIEZO protein controls root growth in Arabidopsis responding to magnetic fields and blue light

Updated

Abstract

Essence

Arabidopsis helped roots respond to magnetic-field and blue-light signals through calcium influx, transport, and root-tip organization.

Evidence

This plant genetics and signaling study used Arabidopsis PIEZO mutation, expression analysis, calcium and auxin-related readouts, CRY1/CRY2 and PIN3 genetic analyses, amyloplast assays, transcriptomics, and regulatory-network analysis.

Caveat

The findings are limited to Arabidopsis root-growth mechanisms under combined magnetic-field and blue-light conditions and do not establish broader crop or field-level effects.
