Autoantibodies may drive neurological symptoms in a subgroup of people with long COVID.

Evidence

Translational immunology study profiled autoantibodies in long COVID patients and tested purified IgG by passive transfer into mice.

Caveat

The causal evidence comes from transferred IgG in mice, while the human data are subgroup associations and no autoantibody-targeted treatment was tested.
