Abstract

APP/PS1 mice given P2-amylin antibody had significantly higher levels of P2 in plasma than those treated with a control.

  • P2-antibody was not found in brain or kidney tissues.
  • No signs of microhemorrhages or vascular damage were seen in the antibody-injected group.
  • Pancreatic tissues from P2-injected mice appeared normal and healthy compared to controls.
  • P2-injected mice showed a trend towards better recognition memory and lower blood glucose levels.
  • HuAmy-APP/PS1 mice also exhibited similar trends in memory and blood glucose after P2 treatment.
