The BioAge R package implements three methods to quantify biological aging from blood chemistry and DNA methylation data.

  • Biological age measures derived from blood chemistry data may predict healthy lifespan more accurately than those from DNA methylation.
  • The BioAge package allows customization of biological aging measurements using various biomarkers.
  • BioAge enables comparison of user-generated biological aging measurements with established methods.
  • Application of BioAge to data from the CALERIE™ trial suggests that the intervention may slow biological aging.
