Using cell-like fat nanoparticles to control metabolism and enhance ultrasound-based immune therapy for brain cancer

Updated

Abstract

Lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA) is targeted to potentially enhance glioblastoma immunotherapy through a novel delivery system.

  • cRGD-decorated lipid nanoparticles were developed to deliver both a sonosensitizer and LDHA siRNA to glioblastoma cells.
  • The dual-targeting effect of these nanoparticles aims to improve the precision of treatment.
  • Ultrasound irradiation may induce immunogenic cell death, leading to the release of tumor-associated antigens and damage-associated molecular patterns.
  • Regulation of lactic acid metabolism via LDHA siRNA could counteract the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment.
  • This approach suggests a new method for integrating metabolic modulation and immunotherapy in glioblastoma treatment.
