Computer-Designed mRNA Vaccine Targeting Three Types of Equine Encephalitis Viruses

Updated

Abstract

A trivalent multi-epitope mRNA vaccine targeting three mosquito-borne encephalitis viruses has been computationally designed.

  • Western equine encephalitis virus (WEEV), Eastern equine encephalitis virus (EEEV), and Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus (VEEV) are associated with severe encephalitis in humans and horses.
  • No licensed vaccines are currently available for routine prevention of these viruses in humans.
  • The proposed vaccine aims to provide a solution for the prevention of infections caused by these neurotropic alphaviruses.
