Abstract
A significant overall decline was observed in individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI)/dementia during the COVID-19 lockdown period.
- Communication, mood, movement, and compliance with new measures were the most affected domains for individuals with MCI/dementia.
- Caregivers reported a notable increase in their psychological and physical burden during the lockdown.
- Limited available support sources contributed to the heightened difficulties faced by caregivers.
- The pandemic may disrupt essential routines that are important for the mental and physical health of both individuals with MCI/dementia and their caregivers.
