COVID-19 vaccination and long COVID symptoms across different definitions and types

Updated

Abstract

Essence

COVID-19 vaccination before infection was linked to lower post-COVID syndrome risk across several definitions, but not fatigue.

Evidence

Prospective multicenter cohort data from 756 adult COVID-19 patients used multivariable logistic regression to compare PCS definitions and phenotypes by vaccination status through 12 months.

Caveat

Because vaccination was observational rather than randomized, residual confounding may remain, and the Fatigue Cluster showed no protective association (OR 0.917, 95% CI 0.554-1.519).
