- Modern lifestyle factors such as high sugar, high fat diets, and substance addiction may exacerbate neurodegenerative diseases.
- Ageing, brain injury, oxidative stress, and neuroinflammation are associated with the onset and severity of these diseases.
- Certain dietary components, including polyunsaturated fatty acids and antioxidants, may help counteract neurodegenerative diseases.
- Increased autophagy and neurogenesis in the adult brain could be promoted by healthy dietary choices and physical activity.
