Link between diet-related inflammation and faster aging in multiple organs

Updated

Abstract

Essence

More pro-inflammatory diets were modestly linked to accelerated biological aging of the heart and liver in U.S. adults.

Evidence

This cross-sectional NHANES 2003-2018 analysis used 28-nutrient scores and Klemera-Doubal organ biological ages in 14,873 adults.

Caveat

Sensitivity analyses supported the heart and liver associations but not the kidney association, and cross-sectional dietary assessment limits causal inference.
