Abstract
Up to 33% of the global population is affected by metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).
- An altered lifestyle, marked by increased physical inactivity and high caloric food intake, is linked to the development of MASLD.
- The optimal dietary pattern for treating MASLD remains uncertain and is a topic of ongoing debate.
- Various dietary patterns, such as the Mediterranean Diet, DASH, Low-Carb Diet, Ketogenic Diet, Low-Fat Diet, Vegetarian Diets, and Intermittent Fasting, are examined for their potential effects on MASLD.
- The review assesses the advantages and limitations of these dietary approaches in relation to MASLD treatment and associated cardiometabolic risk factors.
