Effective shrinking of original and spread liver tumors using immune-activating nanoparticle treatment

Updated

Abstract

A single dose of polyIC-LNPs suppressed liver tumor progression in murine models.

  • PolyIC-LNPs demonstrated robust tumor suppression for both primary and metastatic liver tumors.
  • The treatment was effective independent of the anti-PD-L1 antibody.
  • PolyIC-LNPs were primarily taken up by liver cells (hepatocytes).
  • This treatment induced sustained signaling that enhances immune responses.
  • PolyIC-LNPs promoted the activation and infiltration of CD8 + T cells.
  • The approach may eliminate the need for traditional immune checkpoint inhibitors.
