Electroacupuncture's effects on cell recycling in ovarian support cells of rats with early ovarian failure

Updated

Abstract

Electroacupuncture (EA) led to decreased serum follicle-stimulating hormone levels in rats with premature ovarian insufficiency.

  • Rats with premature ovarian insufficiency showed prolonged estrous cycles and increased serum follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) levels.
  • Ovarian tissue analysis indicated decreased levels of estradiol (E2), anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH), and inhibin B (INHB) in the model group.
  • The model group exhibited increased autophagosomes and autolysosomes, alongside decreased expression of p62 in ovarian granulosa cells.
  • EA treatment resulted in reduced serum FSH levels and increased serum E2, AMH, and INHB levels compared to the model group.
  • Rats receiving EA displayed improved ovarian granulosa cell morphology and increased positive expression of p62.
