Electroacupuncture improves womb lining and pregnancy in hormone-treated rats by restoring daily Per2 gene rhythm

Updated

Abstract

Electroacupuncture may improve endometrial receptivity and pregnancy outcomes by restoring the disrupted rhythm of the core clock gene Per2 in the endometrium due to controlled ovarian hyperstimulation.

  • Controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) is associated with a decline in endometrial receptivity, which negatively impacts implantation success rates.
  • Previous research has primarily focused on static molecular events without examining the dynamic rhythmic aspects of endometrial function.
  • This study aims to investigate the potential benefits of electroacupuncture in enhancing endometrial receptivity.
  • The approach considers the restoration of the core clock gene Per2's rhythm in the endometrium as a key factor in improving pregnancy outcomes.
