Abstract

Eleutheroside B (EB) may improve symptoms of Alzheimer's disease in a C. elegans model.

  • EB could reduce cognitive decline and movement issues caused by amyloid-β and Tau aggregation.
  • It may lower the levels of harmful proteins Aβ, Tau, and phosphorylated Tau (p-Tau).
  • EB may enhance health and lifespan in worms, leading to a longer healthspan and improved physical activity.
  • No toxicity was observed even at high doses of EB.
  • EB appears to activate important stress-response factors and increase antioxidant enzyme levels.
  • The protective effects of EB against Alzheimer's-related issues may involve promoting autophagy.
