Abstract

Combined treatment with human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells and nicotinamide mononucleotide significantly improved anti-aging effects in mice.

  • The combination therapy resulted in marked alleviation of thymic and splenic atrophy.
  • Body weight loss was attenuated in mice receiving the combined treatment.
  • Motor and cognitive functions significantly improved in D-galactose-induced aging mice with the combined therapy.
  • In vitro findings showed reduced cellular aging in lymphocytes and decreased oxidative stress in stem cells with combined treatment.
  • Activation of the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway by nicotinamide mononucleotide helped maintain the stem cells' anti-aging properties.
