Dopamine from Enterococcus hirae QT4713 reduces gut inflammation and Parkinson's-like symptoms in mice

Updated

Abstract

Essence

Enterococcus hirae QT4713 may ease Parkinson-like gut and motor deficits in mice through dopamine-related metabolism and microbiome changes.

Evidence

This was a preclinical mouse and microbiome study using in vitro dopamine conversion assays, MPTP-induced Parkinson's disease mice, and TMEM175 knockout mice.

Caveat

The evidence is limited to bacterial assays and mouse models, so it does not show therapeutic benefit or safety in people with Parkinson's disease.
