Abstract

Erianin significantly alleviated MPTP-induced motor deficits in a mouse model of Parkinson's disease.

  • Erianin reduced neuroinflammation and reversed abnormal secretion of inflammatory and oxidative stress factors in serum.
  • The compound suppressed gene expression of NLRP3 and tyrosine hydroxylase in the striatum of Parkinson's disease mice.
  • Erianin inhibited activation of the NF-κB/NLRP3 signaling pathway in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated microglia cells.
  • The findings indicate that Erianin may exert neuroprotective effects primarily through anti-inflammatory and antioxidant actions.
