Exercise may improve heart failure by controlling heart cell cleanup through the ILF3/lncRNA NEAT1 pathway

Updated

Abstract

After 4 weeks of exercise training, exercise training reduces NEAT1 expression in the cardiac tissues of heart failure rats.

  • Heart failure is associated with upregulated levels of the long non-coding RNA NEAT1.
  • Knockdown of NEAT1 can inhibit cellular damage in heart failure models and improve cardiac function.
  • Exercise training may improve heart failure progression by suppressing NEAT1 expression.
  • In heart failure, increased ILF3 binds to NEAT1, stabilizing its expression and activating the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway.
  • The activation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway is linked to inhibited autophagy, contributing to the progression of heart failure.
