How bone marrow stem cell exosomes altered by Bu Shen Yi Sui capsule may support nerve insulation repair by controlling miR-15b and Wnt signals in cells that make myelin

Updated

Abstract

Treatment with BSYS-modified exosomes led to significant increases in body weight and motor function in CPZ mice.

  • BSYS-modified exosomes reversed myelin loss and axonal damage in a mouse model of demyelination.
  • The treatment enhanced the proliferation, differentiation, and maturation of oligodendrocytes.
  • BSYS-modified exosomes had a pronounced effect on key markers of myelin, including CC1, CNPase, PLP, MOG, and MBP.
  • miR-15b-5p, found in BSYS-modified exosomes, directly targets Wnt3a, which is associated with the inhibition of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.
  • Administration of BSYS-modified exosomes elevated Axin2 expression while decreasing levels of Wnt3a and other related signaling proteins.
