Updated

Abstract

Twenty-three percent of female critical care nurses in the study met criteria for clinical depression.

  • Night nurses reported poorer sleep quality compared to day nurses.
  • There was no significant difference in chronic fatigue levels between day and night nurses.
  • Depression and sleep quality were identified as the most relevant factors contributing to chronic fatigue.
  • Anxiety was also considered but was less relevant in explaining chronic fatigue compared to depression and sleep quality.
