Fisetin significantly attenuated glutamate-induced cytotoxicity and reduced reactive oxygen species production.

  • Fisetin, a natural flavonoid, exhibits antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that may protect neurons.
  • In cell models, fisetin treatment decreased levels of TNF-α, a marker of inflammation.
  • Fisetin reduced the size of neurospheres derived from neural progenitor cells without affecting their overall number.
  • Treatment with fisetin increased the number of neuroblasts while leaving glial cell levels unchanged.
