Flash Glucose Monitoring Improves Blood Sugar and Metabolic Health in People with Type 2 Diabetes Using GLP-1RA Treatment

Abstract

After 12 months, the Flash glucose monitoring group achieved a mean HbA1c reduction of -0.58%.

  • The Flash glucose monitoring group reduced HbA1c from 8.24% to 7.66%, while the GLP-1RA-only group decreased from 8.32% to 7.97%.
  • Participants using Flash glucose monitoring lost an average of -4.03 kg, compared to a -2.29 kg loss in the GLP-1RA-only group.
  • Total cholesterol and triglyceride levels significantly decreased in the Flash glucose monitoring group, alongside an increase in HDL cholesterol levels.
  • Mean time-in-range for glucose levels was 69.6%, with low instances of hypoglycemia and no increase in severe diabetes-related events.
