100% of participants with Chronic Intestinal Failure had at least five geriatric syndromes.

  • Participants had a mean chronological age of 58.3 ± 13 years but a median phenotypic age of 67.5 years, indicating premature metabolic aging.
  • Polypharmacy syndrome affected 92.9% of participants, with an average daily intake of 9.3 ± 3.08 medications.
  • 64.3% of participants were dependent in at least one basic activity of daily living, while 92.9% were unable to perform at least one instrumental activity.
  • 78.6% displayed a high probability of phenotypic frailty, and 92.9% were classified as frail based on deficit accumulation.
  • 42.9% of participants were likely to have sarcopenia, and 21.4% met the criteria for falls syndrome.
  • 57.1% showed a high likelihood of depressive disorder, and 92.9% had abnormal cognitive performance.
