Weight regain after stopping anti-obesity drugs was common and varied by medication, with the largest rebound reported for semaglutide.

Evidence

Meta-analysis of 36 studies from January 2010 to October 2024 compared post-discontinuation regain after semaglutide, liraglutide, exenatide, and orlistat.

Caveat

Heterogeneity was moderate to high with I2 from 41.7% to 99.7%, and Egger's test suggested significant publication bias for liraglutide.
