Pre-stroke use of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) may influence the outcomes of ischemic stroke.

  • GLP-1RAs are known to reduce stroke incidence.
  • The relationship between pre-stroke GLP-1RA use and the severity of acute ischemic stroke is unclear.
  • This study aims to evaluate whether GLP-1RA use before a stroke is associated with reduced stroke severity.
  • Improved post-stroke outcomes may be linked to pre-stroke GLP-1RA usage.
