A total of 41 probable causal relationships were identified between gut microbiota and geriatric syndromes.

  • Frailty is associated with five positive and two negative causal relationships with gut microbiota.
  • Parkinson's disease exhibits three positive and four negative causal connections to gut microbiota.
  • Delirium is linked to three positive and two negative causal relationships with gut microbiota.
  • Insomnia shows nine positive and two negative causal connections to gut microbiota.
  • Depression presents nine positive and two negative causal relationships with gut microbiota.
