Ways to Treat Bad Breath

Updated

Abstract

A total of 1809 participants were included in a review of various interventions aimed at managing halitosis.

  • Forty-four trials compared different interventions for halitosis against placebo or control.
  • Most trials focused on short-term outcomes, with only one trial providing long-term follow-up data.
  • Evidence regarding the effectiveness of interventions is classified as low to very low certainty.
  • Various types of interventions, including mechanical debridement, chewing gums, and mouthwashes, were assessed with uncertain results.
  • No conclusive evidence was found to support the superiority of any specific intervention for reducing bad breath.
