HMGB1 controls cell cleanup through TLR4/NF-κB signaling in heart damage caused by small artery blockages

Updated

Abstract

In the model group, LVEF increased by 18.50 ± 1.13% after glycyrrhizin treatment.

  • HMGB1 expression significantly increased, with its migration into the cytoplasm observed in the CME model.
  • Elevated levels of TLR4 and NF-κB were noted alongside reduced autophagic activity.
  • Glycyrrhizin treatment led to improvements in cardiac dysfunction and reduced myocardial injury.
  • Microinfarct size decreased by 19.94 ± 1.07% in the glycyrrhizin group compared to the CME model.
  • The cardioprotective effects of glycyrrhizin were negated when was inhibited with 3-methyladenine.
