  • Sepsis decreased HSPA12A expression in both hearts and cardiomyocytes.
  • HSPA12A knockout inhibited the activation of inflammation pathways associated with sepsis.
  • Overexpression of HSPA12A was linked to increased inflammation and cardiomyocyte death.
  • HSPA12A overexpression activated a pathway that inhibited cellular cleanup processes (autophagy).
  • Inhibition of the mTOR pathway countered the negative effects of HSPA12A on autophagy and inflammation.
