Antibody responses to mRNA flu vaccines in older adults

Updated

Abstract

Essence

mRNA influenza vaccines produced higher day-29 seroconversion rates than licensed inactivated vaccines in older adults.

Evidence

This systematic review and random-effects meta-analysis included seven randomized trials from four studies with 7,114 adults aged at least 65 years and reported higher SCRs for A/H1N1, A/H3N2, B/Victoria, and B/Yamagata.

Caveat

The evidence was limited by few studies, high heterogeneity for most strains, and funnel-plot or Egger-test signals suggesting possible small-study or publication bias.
