Impact of Transport Stress on Tibetan Sheep Health

Updated

Abstract

Blood biochemical indices including creatine kinase and lactate dehydrogenase were significantly elevated in Tibetan sheep after long-distance transport.

  • Significant increases in blood biochemical markers (P < 0.05) indicate physiological stress in Tibetan sheep post-transport.
  • Specific bacteria like Turicibacter and Clostridium_sensu_stricto_1 showed positive correlations with elevated biochemical markers.
  • A negative correlation was found with Prevotellaceae_UCG_004, suggesting shifts in gut microbiota in response to transport stress.
  • Recovery trends in vital signs after day 16 indicate potential adaptation of Tibetan sheep to new environments within a month.
