Abstract

33.4% of the elderly in Alexandria suffer from insomnia.

  • Having five or more chronic diseases is associated with a significantly higher likelihood of insomnia.
  • Female sex is linked to a greater risk of experiencing insomnia.
  • Anxiety and depression are independently associated with higher rates of insomnia.
  • Watching television in bed before sleeping is correlated with increased insomnia prevalence.
  • Nocturia, or frequent urination at night, shows a slight association with insomnia.
  • Daily exposure to sunlight may be linked to a lower likelihood of insomnia.
