The study aims to assess the effects of an intensive lifestyle intervention on glycaemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes.

  • The primary outcome is the change in glycaemic control, measured by glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c).
  • The secondary outcome includes reductions in the need for antidiabetic medications.
  • Participants will be patients with type 2 diabetes for less than 10 years without complications.
  • The U-TURN intervention includes increased physical activity and a diet aimed at weight loss.
  • Patients will be randomly assigned to either the U-TURN intervention or standard care in a 2:1 ratio.
