How Internet addiction is linked to sleep quality in teenagers

In a sample of 1487 adolescents, 61.6% were found to have poor sleep quality.

  • The average age of participants was 16.16 years, with 60.6% male representation.
  • The average score on the Young Internet Addiction Test-Short Form was 25.12.
  • The average score on the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index was 5.11.
  • A statistically significant positive relationship was identified between internet addiction scores and sleep quality scores (p < .01).
  • Adolescents displayed moderate levels of internet addiction, which is associated with poor sleep quality.
