Combining Ixekizumab and Tirzepatide improves disease control more than Ixekizumab alone in overweight adults with psoriatic arthritis

Updated

Abstract

The primary endpoint was achieved in 31.7% of participants receiving ixekizumab and tirzepatide compared to 0.8% for ixekizumab alone.

  • Participants receiving ixekizumab and tirzepatide showed significant improvement in achieving both 50% reduction in disease activity and weight loss at 36 weeks.
  • Greater improvements in disease activity were observed in the ixekizumab plus tirzepatide group (33.5%) compared to the ixekizumab alone group (20.4%).
  • Nominally significant improvements were noted in additional measures of disease activity and severity, including ACR20 and minimal disease activity.
  • Patient-reported outcomes indicated significant enhancements in physical function and fatigue among those treated with ixekizumab plus tirzepatide.
  • Safety profiles for both drugs were consistent with previous studies, indicating no new safety concerns.
