Chaperone-Mediated Cell Cleanup Controls Notch Signaling and Neural Stem Cell Development

Updated

Abstract

LAMP2A expression is associated with the induction of neurogenesis in neural stem cells.

  • Chaperone Mediated Autophagy (CMA) is active in neural stem cells (NSCs).
  • Overexpression and loss-of-function of LAMP2A suggest it plays an inductive role in neuronal differentiation.
  • LAMP2A influences NSC fate decisions by interfering with the NOTCH1 signaling pathway.
  • CMA may contribute to neuronal fate acquisition through the suppression of NOTCH1 signaling.
  • These findings provide a framework to understand the link between LAMP2 and neurodevelopmental disorders.
