LETM2 controls energy use and cell cleanup in diabetic foot ulcers, linked to oxidative stress and treatment possibilities

Updated

Abstract

Essence

may help endothelial cells preserve mitochondrial function during oxidative stress in diabetic foot ulcers.

Evidence

This integrated transcriptomic analysis used public datasets, institutional DFU validation samples, single-cell RNA sequencing, and HUVEC siRNA knockdown experiments under oxidative stress.

Caveat

The functional evidence comes from HUVECs in vitro, so it does not show that targeting LETM2 improves diabetic foot ulcers in patients.
