Shorter immune cell DNA length as a sign of aging in relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis

Updated

Abstract

Leukocyte telomere length (LTL) is a key biomarker associated with cellular aging.

  • Multiple sclerosis (MS) is characterized by both immune-mediated damage and accelerated biological aging.
  • LTL may serve as a biomarker for assessing cellular senescence in individuals with MS.
  • The role of shelterin complex genetics in modulating LTL in early-stage MS is not yet fully understood.
