Public knowledge and interest in healthy aging and lifespan in Singapore: the HELO survey

Updated

Abstract

Among 3034 participants in Singapore, 82.3% correctly defined lifespan.

  • 41.3% of participants accurately defined healthspan.
  • 55.5% expressed interest in Healthy Longevity Medicine (HLM) clinics.
  • Younger age, male gender, and higher education are associated with better knowledge of lifespan and healthspan.
  • Higher income, full-time employment, and lower body mass index are linked to stronger interest in HLM clinics.
  • Supplement use, moderate alcohol consumption, high exercise frequency, and enrollment in annual health screenings may improve knowledge and interest in HLM.
