  • Liraglutide counteracted a multifaceted injury phenotype characterized by oxidative stress, apoptosis, and mitochondrial dysfunction.
  • The NQO1/SIRT3 pathway was downregulated in models of diabetic kidney disease, leading to exacerbated injuries.
  • Restoration of NQO1/SIRT3 expression was consistently observed with liraglutide treatment.
  • Liraglutide treatment reduced histone hyperacetylation and improved mitochondrial function and mitophagy.
  • Disruption of the NQO1/SIRT3 pathway significantly decreased the protective effects of liraglutide.
